For more than fifteen years, I’ve worked in management positions across startups, consulting, and Germany’s public broadcasting system, aligning editorial standards, technology, and organizational structures so that journalism can serve audiences clearly and sustainably. 


I’ve launched newsrooms, restructured legacy workflows, and led national-scale digital platforms through growth and transformation. I care about strong teams, resilient systems, and communication that holds up under pressure. Motivation and empathy are core principles of my leadership.

Executive Editor, Digital

ARD-aktuell (Tagesschau)    |    2019–Present

I lead the editorial and strategic development of the digital platforms behind tagesschau — including tagesschau.de, the tagesschau app, and a national podcast portfolio.

  • Managed an annual budget of 8.8 Mio EUR, co-led a team of 150 (60 direct reports)
     

  • Guide one of the most widely used news platforms in the German-speaking world. Record traffic in 2020 and again in 2025 placed tagesschau.de among the top five news outlets in the DACH region and the leading public media news platform online, reaching over 200 Mio. visits in 2025.
     

  • Established digital editorial standards that balance innovation, speed, and journalistic integrity.
     

  • Built and restructured multidisciplinary teams across editorial, product, distribution, and development; hired 30+ colleagues in the digital division.
     

  • Represent the digital platforms within ARD governance structures and long-term strategic planning.
     

  • Provide leadership during major news events and structural transitions, ensuring that growth never outruns editorial responsibility.

Deputy Editor, Digital — ARD-aktuell (2018–2019)
Helped design the structural foundations of tagesschau’s digital transformation; introduced KPI frameworks and new desk structures. Promoted to Executive Editor.


Editor-in-Chief, BuzzFeed Germany (2014–2016)
Built and led the German launch of BuzzFeed, recruiting the founding newsroom and adapting a global digital media model to the German market.
